Preparation Guidelines
- Include and link all images.
- Include a color proof of image or attach a PDF/JPG for viewing
Fonts
- Include Mac fonts with file. Convert PC fonts to "paths/outlines/curves."
Trap Lines
- Screen printing - 2 point minimum trap.
- Flexo printing - 1 point minimum trap.
Note: most offset printing requires 0.50 traps.
Margins and Bleeds
- Screen-printing
– A 1/8” margin is required between your artwork and the die or cut
lines. Bleed matter should surpass border by 1/8”. Special orders can
be placed for 1/16” borders. Contact your account executive.
- Flexo
printing – A 1/16” margin is required between your artwork and the die
or cut lines. Bleed matter should surpass border by 1/8 ”.
Line Screen
- Screen-printing
– 77 dots per inch is standard. Up to 117 dpi is available.
- Flexo
printing – 117 dots per inch is standard. Up to 150 dpi is available.
- Offset printing – 150 dots per inch.
Photos and PhotoShop Files
- For screen-printing, supply photos at 77 dpi – provide
at least 154 pixels per inch @ actual size.
- For
flexo printing, supply photos at 117 dpi – provide at least 234 pixels
per inch @ actual size.
- For
offset printing, supply photos at 150 dpi – provide at least 300 pixels
per inch @ actual size.
Fonts
- Screen-printing – minimum type is 4 point for readability.
Avoid fine reversed type or type with
serifs. Avoid small 4cp type unless outlined in black.
Colors
- We utilize Pantone colors. Please include the pantone chip
number(s) with your art.
Note: refer
to PMS coated colors for screen-printing
because they mimic ink glossiness.
Bar Codes
- UPC or EAN
- Minimum of 1.469” x 1.02”
- Maximum of 2.938” x 2.04”
- Printed black on white only. May not be printed over a half-tone gradient or photo.
- Provide Bar code in vector format.
